The BridgeUSA J-1 Internship and Training program is a 6-12 month program. Participants will hold a non-immigrant visa under the J-1 category. This program enables college or university students and recent graduates the opportunity to experience U.S. business practices and to enhance their skills in the Hospitality Industry. This Program is also open to NON-GRADUATES who have at least 5 years work experience in the Hotel and Restaurant industry.
Opportunities include, but are not limited to, Front Office, Food and Beverage Service, Banquets, and Culinary. Participants will learn from industry leaders from 4 and 5 star hotel and resorts.
What is the BridgeUSA J-1 Internship and Training Program All About?
The BridgeUSA J-1 Internship and Training program is for Filipinos, from 18-33 years old, who are college degree holders and are interested to become Interns, Trainees or Management Trainees in the United States of America. A Host Organization in the US shall provide adequate training to the intern or trainee to enhance their skills, knowledge and culture in their academic field through participation of their programs.
Its purpose is to enhance understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through educational and cultural exchanges.
J-1 is not a work visa and cannot be changed to any other visa.

US Host Organization
Host organizations are businesses that have been approved to host exchange visitors and have agreed to provide adequate training in the exchange visitor’s career path.
US Designated Sponsor
Bridge USA Sponsors are designated by the United States Department of State to administer Training programs Internships, and Summer Work/Travel programs. The role of the Bridge USA sponsor is to ensure program regulation compliance and to monitor the host organizations and the exchange visitors in order to establish a successful program for all.
Cooperating Organization (BRYDGE Philippines, Inc.)
BRYDGE assists in the recruiting, screening, selecting, orienting, and evaluating Filipino applicants who will join the J-1 Program. BRYDGE also will assist in the processing of the necessary documents required to obtain a J-1 Visa. BRYDGE will serve as the partner of the Filipino applicants to ensure that applicants will be attended to properly all throughout the duration of the program.
Qualified interns or trainees will have the opportunity to train in a 4 to 5 start hotel located in the following US States.
Qualified interns or trainees will participate in a structured and guided work-based internship and training program in your specific academic field. Opportunities for exchange visitors are approved based on the available training offered by the host organization and the exchange visitor’s educational and professional background.

As an intern or trainee, you will receive compensation from your host organization during your internship or training program. Placement hours will vary depending on the host organization and the seasonality of the business but will be at a minimum of 32 hours a week.
